1 Year Blog-iversary, Deals & Slow Cooking Thursday...

So, I didn't even realize that today was my one year blog-iversary until someone asked the other day. I had to look it up and then I saw that Oct 30, 2007 was my first entry. (And I said 'fabulous' back then, too. hehehe) I would have thrown a party had I realized this earlier. Shoot, I'm at 411 posts...I could have thrown many parties ... one at 100th post, 200th post, 300th post and 400th post. Oh well, I'll make it up on my 500th post. How about that?

Since I didn't have a party, please, have a FREE COFFEE and a 15% off coupon on me at Barnes & Noble. I've seen this around the blogworld, so maybe you've already indulged yourself. If not, hurry expires this Friday. Click HERE for the coupons.

Thank you all for the well wishes. I am feeling MUCH better now. Thankfully, the baby did not get sick. I thought she was starting to. Phewwww! I don't know why I keep getting sick so much lately. I'm definitely tired of it.

Let me get on with the deals then I'll post a yummy slow cooking recipe. I won't be fixing it today since I never got to the grocery store this week. Thank goodness for yummies in the freezer!

A Penny In My Pocket
List Price: $14.95
Sale Price: $11.21 - 25% off
Eligible for FREE Super Saver Shipping

Slow Cooker Spare Ribs
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 pounds pork spareribs
1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional)
1/4 cup cold water (optional)

Place ribs in a large stock pot, and cover with water. Bring to a boil, and cook for 15 minutes.

In a mixing bowl, mix together soup, onion, garlic, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Remove ribs from water, and transfer to a slow cooker. Pour sauce over ribs.

Cover, and cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours, or until ribs are tender.

If sauce is too thin when cooking time is done, drain sauce from ribs, and pour into a sauce pan. Combine 1 teaspoon cornstarch with a small amount of cold water, stir into sauce, and bring sauce to boil. Cook until sauce has reached desired thickness.

I can't wait until I can really cook again to try these slow cooker recipes. Any raw meat still does me in.

On my mind: Why is my stomach feeling so crampy? How can I convince my daughter to change out of her Halloween costume after their parade at school tomorrow? How can I make my HS basketball team be a little more peppy... I like laid back, but not so much on the court :) Also on my mind: can't wait until the weekend bc my husband will be off and I can get some extra sleep!

Happy Blogiversary!

On my mind today: Just realized how close to Thanksgiving we are and how far I am from the family who usually cooks the turkey. I can't cook a turkey to save my life! Must find a good, cheap way for me not to cook the turkey yet still indulge the Mr and the monkey in a Thanksgiving dinner.

Hey so happy that you hit your anniversary. That is really an accomplishment and one that I have no idea when it is up....need to pay more attention.

Answer to your question of the day for me is "how can one nose produce so much gunk!?" Also suffering from a cold and wish that I could just die somewhere.
Happy Halloween!!!
