Menu Plan Monday - Oct. 13th - And a 'WOWSERS'!!

Holy Bloggy Cow! I cannot believe the amazing response from the oh-so-fabulous The Secret is in the Sauce's Friday Favorite highlight of my blog! 121 comments as of right now on Friday's Post! WOWSERS! I think it's going to take at least a week for me to respond to everyone. Please, give me some time, but I will make it over to your neck of the blog world! I don't know how many I will reach today...I still have a suitcase full of clothes and I JUST got my morning coffee! lol I'm exhausted, too...so when the baby goes down for a nap, I just may join her! ;-) Can't wait to visit all my new readers though...thanks again for stopping by!

So, the little adventure I was on from Thursday to Sunday was an adventure of the girl kind...a fabulous 4 days with some amazing girlfriends! Hi GIRLFRIENDS!! This was the first time leaving the baby, but I did remarkably well with it. We ventured off to gorgeously green (see the photo to the left....so green...I don't see much of green where I live) Portland, Oregon for the Women of Faith conference. It's a bit of a tradition every year. We not only stayed up late, got up early and walked a ton, we learned some valuable lessons during the conference. I was also overly excited to see Mandisa perform as well as Nicole C. Mullen. They rocked the house down! Nicole had these amazingly buff arms that would leave any woman envious and Mandisa had a confidence that would outweigh anything else on our 'wish lists'. She is an inspiring woman to say the least. That's her on the right. Not a great photo, but it's on my cell phone so not bad for that.

We laughed entirely too 'out loud' at comedian Anita Renfroe who was just on Good Morning America not too long ago. Oh my goooooodness she is HILARIOUS! She did this little song called Momsense. You HAVE to watch it! ...

She felt obligated to do a Dadsense .... hehehehe

Now, that is a HOOT!

And to update on the garage sale that my HUBBY DID ON HIS OWN ... bless him ... he got everything set up, put tags on the things I didn't have time for and it rained! He sold an OK amount of items, but not nearly as many as we were hoping. Oh well! Rain will do that! I should have a blog garage sale and list everything else! hahaha Anyway, here's to fabulous hubbies who do garage sales on their own (with the help from both our parents...bless them, too!) ;-)

I'll post more about my trip throughout the week because I have so much to include in this post. Menu Plan Monday is very important for my sanity and my pocketbook. Without it, I tend to over purchase at the grocery store and then throw tons away by the end of the week. Here's what I have planned for the week...(oh and thanks for letting me know when you try some of the recipes! I love hearing about it!)

Monday: Simple Tuna Melt - Love me something simple & good!
Tuesday: Egg Chicken Casserole - this one is for you, Auntie Donna!
Wednesday: Orange Roughy in a Mushroom Sauce - mild fish
Thursday: Lentils & Sausage - I'll post the recipe on Slow Cooking Thursday
Friday: You Won't Be Single For Long Vodka Cream Pasta by Rachael Ray- totally trying this because of the name! ha

I would love to go to Chicago for a girl's weekend. I really want to check out IKEA and other stores there.

Of course, then I would need some money to shop! LOL!

I bet that was such an inspirational thing to go to! If I could go anywhere for a girl weekend it would be Chicago. And I would love to have no budget, shop all I want and end up on Oprah's favorite things show. haha

What a great weekend! I saw the "Momsense" song awhile back and loved it, so I just had to watch the "Dadsense" also. Hilarious! And so true!

For a girls weekend, I would love to go to Savannah. It's a bit to far to drive, though. I just know I would love it, though!

I heart Nicole C. Mullen!

I actually just went on a girl's weekend in August. It was only a day and a half, but it was the perfect first getaway away from my son (who was not quite two then).

Glad you got a chance to go!

Love the girls weekends. It has been a couple years now since we have done one but they are so great. In the past we always went to Tennesse which is about 6 hours from home. Always a good time!

I want to know your secret on how you got your hubby to do a garage sale. Seriously that is amazing!
