Menu Plan Monday - Oct. 20th & Coupon Codes

So, I learned how to do Mr. Linky on Saturday's post. I wasn't expecting any entries since it was the weekend and I posted it later. I'm beyond excited with the response, especially given the last minute idea! You were all SO creative and positive! We'll do it again next weekend. Just a reminder...make sure you include a link back to my post so that others can play along. If I haven't already, I'll be over to your blog soon...this weekend was busy and I wasn't on the computer much.

For next weekend, I'm thinking more on the topic of a time when we were kids and felt a boost in our self-esteem....let's work with that. OK? You can do anything you want though. :-) I'm really excited about the chance for all of us to share stories that uplift our self image. Goodness knows this world fills our brains with negativity enough!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. The allergies are back for me. I miss the days before I was struck by this bug. What happened? I never had allergies until about two and a half years ago. Since then you'd think me and allergy were best friends. Sheesh. He's over stayed his welcome. I have discovered that peppermint tea is FABULOUS for a scratchy throat though. I'll be drinking it by the gallon....it's a good thing it's decaf! ha!

Just a heads up. I'm going to be posting a very cool giveaway tomorrow! I've been out of the giveaway routine for a while and it's time to get back in gear! Until then, here's the menu plan for the week....

Monday: Chicken Soft Tacos with Spanish rice & refried beans
Tuesday: Maple Jack Pork Chops with mashed red potatoes & green beans
Wednesday: Lemony Salmon Fettuccine (photo to the right) - I add garlic powder, lemon juice and pepper. Served with garlic bread
Thursday: Chicken & Bacon Meatballs in Cider Broth not sure of the sides yet, any ideas? I'll post this recipe on Slow Cooking Thursday
Friday: Grilled Pizza Wraps with salad

Snack Recipe: Here is a snack I recently tried that any brie lover will adore. Makes a wonderful appetizer, too. Shoot, I could make a lunch out of it! Grilled Apple and Brie Quesadilla with Strawberry Apple Dipping Sauce

Head over to orgjunkie.com for more fabulous meals!

And now time for the DEALS. I'm highlighting one of my FAVORITE online stores ever! I do most of my Christmas shopping here for the kids. I remember receiving personalized things when I was little and it was always beyond exciting for me, especially because my name was very hard to find back in the day. One year when I kept things more simple, I gave the little ones personalized Christmas ornaments with adorable custom characters on them. (photo to the right) The adults got Snow Family© Personalized Ornaments with the family name. They were SO cute! And of course, I had all my coupon codes on hand and I ordered it all at the same time so that I could save more. :-)

You know, I buy a nice shiny new kettle and the next thing you know it's a messy corroded blob that never looks clean again. Should I just throw in the towel and buy disposable kettles?

i loved the self esteem boost. and i love that you are giving us a topic...very smart!

question of the day: what is your family go to meal when the day gets away from you and dinner should have been on the table an hour ago?

Side dish idea for Thursday - Baked apples would work great with the cider, plus a swet to offset the salty.

See you later.

I have a question that someone once asked me....

What is lurking under your couch cushions?

I was surprised (ok, not really) to see what was under my cushions!!

Ugh - sorry I missed your first Self-Esteem Satuday/Sunday. LOVE the button - tres cute!

I'll make it this weekend, though I have to say, I'm going to have to dig pretty deep on that question.

As far as QOTD? Hmmmm...what is the one thing you would do if there was absolutely no chance for failure?

Ponder THAT!

Maurine erwin sent me. heh I can't wait to do the brie apple quesadilla. mmmm.
Because I have no idea for a question-
I say:
Do you follow a pattern of washing when you shower or bathe? (ex: do you start at the neck and work down or feet and work up? Do you start with your L or R side? Do you use a loofah or a wash cloth or a sponge? Inquiring minds want to know.
