Slow Cooking Thursday - Oct. 15th & Reader Email

Before I get started, I have to post this oh-so-fabulous email that I received yesterday from Rachel. I love it when I'm able to help someone get a FABULOUS deal (there I go using 'fabulous' over and over) ... oh and I get giddy when someone says I that 'freakin' ROCK' ...

Okay, so I just bought mine (GPS deal from yesterday), blogged about it and am probably going to buy my dad one too. AND, the tech-guy friend of mine who has this and paid $1000 for it last year, is on the phone with Amazon right now buying two more as gifts. You freakin' ROCK, Melody!!!! I'm glad I know you.
-- Rachel Huse

Rachel, you go with your GPS deal self! And I'm glad I know you, too. The blogsphere is a fabulous thing! ;-) If anyone else is interested in that discount, just go HERE and scroll down to the bottom of the post...there are 2 deals listed. Hopefully, they're still marked at that low price.

Now, on with the FOOOOOOOOD!

Lentils & Sausage

I got this meal from Allrecipes.com - one of my fave places to recipe shop. I puffy heart anything with sausage...bulk sausage, Italian sausage, kielbasa. Mmmm! Haven't tried this one before, but it sounds SO great and looks super easy. Can't wait for the yummy smell to fill my house...

INGREDIENTS
1 (16 ounce) package dry lentils
1 (16 ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained
2 (14 ounce) cans beef broth
3 cups water
1 carrot, chopped
2 pounds kielbasa (Polish) sausage, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1 stalk celery, chopped

DIRECTIONS
-Rinse and drain lentils, but do not soak. In a slow cooker, stir together the lentils, tomatoes, broth, water, carrot, sausage, and celery.
-Cover, and cook on High for 3 hours, or Low for 6 to 7 hours. Stir well before serving.

Head over to Diary of a Stay at Home Mom for more Slow Cooking recipes and to participate in Slow Cooking Thursday!

Woohoo! That recipe looks DELISH!!
My LIFE freakin' rocks!! I am pretty much doing exactly what I wanted to be doing at this point of my life. As a little girl, I always imagined getting married young, being a SAHM, and having a home to take care of. Whoot! Whoot!
I was also going to put "my life" under your last post, for "what surprises me most." IT is surprising to me how different things are than I thought that they would be. Marriage is lovely, but WAAAY different than I imagined when I would dream and giggle over what my future husband would be like. It turns out that he leaves dirty socks around the house, and I have to scrub the toilet that he uses! Also, being a Mom is a lot harder then I thought that it would be. But also, much more rewarding and enjoyable!
So anywhoo, my surprising, ordinary life FREAKIN' ROCKS!! :)
Thank you for visiting my blog!

What freakin' rocks?

Excellent question. I guess my lame answer these days would be:

Sleep!

I remember when much cooler things rocked. Long drives in my sports car, late nights talking on the phone to my boyfriend (now hubby!) and chill time for myself.

Yes, I have vague memories of those days but being a mom freakin' rocks too!!
