My sheets aren't stinky, I promise ...

Wow, I feel so loved from all the supportive comments on my last post. Big :::hug::: to all my fellow stink pots! ;-) I did get a shower yesterday, but it was later than expected. The baby didn't nap as long as I needed in order to to bathe properly, so I put it off until she was goooood and tired. I just hate doing something that prevents me from being able to quickly reach her even if she's in her Exersaucer only a few steps from me, so I usually wait until she's asleep.

As far as an update on yesterday's home showing, I don't have one yet. I haven't talked to my realtor this morning so I don't know what the feedback is. I'm sure it will be, "Oh it is a lovely home, but smaller than what they are looking for" or something of that nature. We're dreading having to rent it out instead. We are so close to starting the construction on the new house and time is tickin' away.

By now you're asking me what the title of this post has to do with all my jibber jabber so far. Well, it has nothing to do with that, but I do have some white sales to report. I can't disappoint my readers by not sharing some discounts, ya know. Oh and my sheets aren't stinky unlike me yesterday. I do keep them washed. There's something about fresh clean sheets....mmmmmmm

I really need new sheets. I reallllly do. We have the same sheets from when we got married 12 years ago. They were lovely, don't get me wrong, but they are now old and actually thinning out like a middle-aged man's hairline. I usually go to the store in anticipation of buying some new fluffy pretty ones, but chicken out for one reason or another. I bought some for the guest room that are just yummy, but unless I sleep in there (which doesn't happen) I can't enjoy them. We rarely ever have sleepover guests, so why do I spoil our ghost visitors with such wonderful sheets and yet ignore our bed? So, I looked up some white sales to help ease me into actually purchasing some new sheets.

Any recommendations on what types of sheets to get? Thread count? Sateen? Jersey Knit? What? Help a girl out! ;-)

..."they are now old and actually thinning out like a middle-aged man's hairline" -- LOL

Well, as far as advice on sheets, you got me. I'm horrible at gettings sheets for myself. I usually buy for the kids and then forget myself. I try to get a high thread count with 100% cotton as I can get without braking the bank. I do like jersey knit, too.

I'm shopping for sheets, so I'm interested in finding out what others have to say...

I'm using pretty much sub-standard sheets - look on Oprahs website - she's the sheet "snob" and I'm sure she could recommend the best kind of sheets to buy. All I know is - the higher the thread count - supposedly the better the sheets. I go for "color" - sorry I am no help. Good luck find some great sheets - see you soon. Kellan

To be honest, I don't think that the higher the thread count, the better quality/feeling, etc. I have these http://www.amazon.com/Pinzon-400-Thread-Count-Egyptian-Hemstitch-Chestnut/dp/B000NY6ORQ/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1201203058&sr=8-1. And they are wonderful!!!!

I've heard the same about the thread count. I think that the material is more important than the thread count or if it's a high thread count and a blend then it may not be as soft. I say go with a great deal and if they aren't that wonderful then at least you got some sheets for cheap! :)

I just got some 500 thread count sheets and they are so soft and wonderful! I love slipping into them! I'm also a big "white sheets" type person. Everyone in our house sleeps on white sheets (I know I'm a little neurotic). That way I wash them all together, I bleach them all together, and I know they're super clean and sanitized. Especially with a little one that pees, poops, and throws up in his bed. Yuck!

I decided awhile back that matching up sheets was annoying and got 6 sets of 400 TC all white (goes with my bedspread). I can rotate them out and not worry about laundry because 3 sets can fit into the front loader.

I love new sheets!

My sheets are white 600 TC and I love them. They feel like hotel sheets...the 'nice' hotel kind. :)

Here is my recommendation...Martha Stewart sheets from Kmart. Not the low three star ones (they are itchy) but the four or five star sheets. They are the BEST that I have ever had because they don't pill up and they have the most generous pockets. I have a pillow-top mattress and I hate when I can't get my sheets back on the bed after I have washed them. These have really roomy pockets and stay roomy after washing.

My grandmother (who only buys the best!) swears by Martha sheets and she is totally right. They feel better and better after washing and they are an affordable luxury.

I hope that helps!!

The sound of the shower in your ears drowns out the screaming (hers and yours!) Seriously, I put the baby in her crib at naptime and while her brother reports that she does indeed cry for a few minutes, she's always fast asleep by the time I step out :)
I always go with white sheets--crisp, fresh, go with everything, and they show every spot of drool and mascara so you'll wash them at least once a week!

Call me crazy but I love sleeping on flannel sheets ( a
nice nuetral off white color) pretty much year 'round. I just like how soft they are.
