Expiring soon ... my maid's contract. haha

So, the maid never showed up and I just kicked my own butt cleaning this house. hahaha Stone floors are fabulously gorgeous, but when your entire downstairs is covered with it they can give you a solid workout! I'm ready for a nap. Darn that maid never showing up. lol At least I have leverage....since I did all the floors, the kitchen and family room, the hubby 'gets' to do the bathrooms. ;-) I hate doing bathrooms.

*BTW, I DO NOT have a maid...it was a joke that I thought was obvious. Someone left a comment saying they wouldn't come back to my blog because I talk about saving money and I have a maid. Sad, if I did have a maid, I would hope that would be OK. Oh and you could count on me having a coupon for a maid if I hired one. hahaha*

What house chore do you dislike the most?

My maid is not responsible either! I have several things I dislike, but I really hate folding clothes!

Heather said...

Hmmm...that's a hard one. I hate laundry and dusting the most, I would say, both of which I am having to do today.

Yuck.

Jaime said...

I dislike the bathrooms too. Something in them just makes me cringe at the thought of cleaning them. That's when I put on my crummy clothes, and rubber gloves up to my elbows and just get it over with. Today it's the hubby's turn here too.

I don't egt it you talk about trying to save money here yet you have a maid? I won't be back.

Karen,

I don't have a maid .. hence the 'ha' here and there. It was a joke, but I thought it was obvious. Even if I had a maid, I'd have a coupon for one. LOL

Sorry you were so offended that you won't come back.

Hope you have a fabulous day!

:)

I love that you said you would have a coupon. ROFL! Seriously though maybe this person read the post wrong. :(

There shall be no banning!

Julia @ Hooked on Houses said...

Oh, my goodness! Even if you did have a maid, so what? It would take a lot more than that to make me ban a blog!

I hate doing bathrooms, too. That's why mine look like they do at the moment. Ugh. -Julia :-)

I've read your blog for a LONG time and never left a comment because I usually read at work...sneaking in my shopping. hehehe Well,I had to leave a comment because I think that it is RIDICULOUS that someone wouldn't read your blog because they thought you had a maid. That is just crazy. I would be thrilled if I had one and I would still use coupons even if I could afford one. lol

I say get a maid and let us know the coupon you found to get it.

LOYAL reader here. :-) Keep up the great work!

What house chore do I dislike the most? All of them! Thats why I have given up on the whole cleaning thing. Phewy.

I would totally have a maid even though I am a SAHM ....heck most of my friends do! But I am way too picky about how I want it cleaned. I have found a system that works for me (flylady)...but this house is about to kick my booty! We have NEVER had three floors (since the basement is finished, I totally count it...plus it is the office and the kids' playroom).

But the one I hate the most is toilets. I finally bought those single use thingys that click on the end of a stick....I bought one for each bathroom, so I don't have an excuse anymore.

Wow, that is a honkin' long comment!

I think I hate every chore but laundry would be the worst because it goes on and on and on and on...and my goodness people do not know what sarcasm is. SENSITIVE!

Jess said...

LOL that is pure awesomeness @ that posters comment.

ANYWAY! I hate laundry. Hate hate hate it. Only two people here and we create tons. Ick.

I'm frugal, use coupons all the time, and love savig money. We all save for different reasons, and sometimes for multiples reasons, and sometimes the reasons change a little bit.

I started learning about couponing when things were especially tight. It actually became a game to see how good a deal I could get. This has made a huge impact on our budget and I share my stockpile.

What my particular situation is and what I do with my overall finances is quite frankly nobody's business. Just b/c you pinch your pennies as much and as often as you can does not mean you cannot spend your money as you want, including splurges!

I def got the sarcasm, and let me tell you "my" maid has been especially slack lately. I keep waiting, but she just doesn't show up! :p

Saving money can be lots of fun. Unfortunately, it seems as if "that commenter" totally misses that and may be pinching pennies begrudingly. Wrong approach and isn't your fault. Don't get why she thinks how you spend your money is her biz just b/c you share money saving info.

LOL, I loved this post about your 'maid'!! Sorry about the banning comment. Whoah. Someone really has some issues they need to deal with... and it's NOT your maid :)

Hope you enjoy your yummy guac on our hot fall days!! I sure did.

It's been a long busy day, so just getting around to clinking around on my computer. Hope your day was a good one, maid not showing, bad comment and all :p

Oh, and I so dislike cleaning bathrooms.. toilets and tubs especially. Dishes too. Yuck.

Shell in your Pocket said...

I do not like to empty the dishwasher. I do it so much and run it so often...maybe that is why I don't like it!
p.s. It's okay if you have a maid..I had a friend who had someone do her laundry and was on a very tight budget. But, that meant a lot to her more than going out to eat or anything!

Huse Yo Mama said...

There is NOTHING wrong with having a maid and cutting coupons/finding deals. I know you don't have one, but I'm just saying.

I hate all household chores equally.

Diva Ma @ Mommy Fabulous said...

Awwww a maid! A girl can dream can't she? And if you did have a maid and still chose to dave money, what's wrong with that? That would be a good way to be able to get a maid, SAVING MONEY to have the things you want!

@TiffanyRom said...

I am so sorry someone got all high and mighty about a maid.

Is it a crime to have help with the housework? I love how they don't have a blog to link back to... rude people never do.

I have received a few rude comments on my blog, and as you get more readers, there's one every once in a while.

Don't think twice about it. You have a great blog that helps a lot of women.

"The Queen in Residence" said...

I think that person was just REALLY jealous that you had a maid. I want one too. Then I realized that I birthed 2. My kids have their chores that they do and they are actually really good at them. DQ has a song that she sings when she is scrubbing the toilets. Yep that was not a typo, she loves to scrub the toilets. So it is a good trade off cause I hate to do the toilets......

Kally said...

Just hopped on over from SITS.

The worst household chores are bathrooms, bathrooms, Bathrooms! Yuck :p

Kristen said...

I think my least favorite thing to do is fold laundry...or empty the dishwasher. The only problem with those things is I also despise piles of laundry and dishes sitting around.

And I actually DO get coupons for the local maid service in the weekly coupon packet the comes in the mail!

How silly, nothing wrong with having a maid if you can afford it! Doesn't necessarily mean you're not frugal either - maybe your time is spent better elsewhere?!

anywhooo, cute blog, congrats on being saucy :-)

Sorry about the rude comment. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a maid. I used to have one. But, since we started renovating the house, we had to cut back on unnecessary things or things that we could do ourselves. But when we can afford it again, I am TOTALLY going to do it!! :)

I HATE all housework. I wrote a post on it to the tune of "Susie Homemaker...err...Not So Much".

I just came across this blog from the SITS gang! I LOVE IT! I can't wait to hear more! Thanks for such a great blog!

I Love Purple More Than You said...

Great blog! And yes its totally ok if you want to share money saving tips AND have a maid. Sometimes your time spent cleaning is more valuable than the money spent on a cleaning lady. (visiting from SITS)

Ha! I would love to have a maid, but I would have to clean my house before she came over...and that would make no sense.

Bathrooms, emptying the dishwasher and putting clothes away are the chores I dislike the most.

You do have a wonderful blog!

♥ Are you kidding me? If I could save enough money by clipping coupons just so I could hire a maid I would TOTALLY do it!!! I hate cleaning, I do it but I hate it!!! For your questions all the chores suck it's really hard to just pick out one! :)

Heather said...

i wish someone would fire my maid! i could use some time off...that said, i hate putting away the laundry.. i don't mind washing or folding..it's the putting away that i dislike more than ANYTHING!!

tiarastantrums said...

wow - some people - really!!!!

I love this post - hey I have a remedy - you come here and be my maid, and then I'll come over there and be yours?? Deal? Although you better think twice, b/c I have all hard wood floors on the first level that have to be washed by hand, 3 very sticky, messy kids and a slobbering dog!

tiarastantrums said...

Oh - and I HATE to empty the dishwasher!!

Brooke said...

I do not like any housework but I do love the feeling when it is all done. My worst would have to be cleaning the tub/shower (I can handle the rest of the bathroom), and folding laundry!

I too think it is hilarious that someone first, would not get that you were totally kidding about the maid, and second, refuse to read you blog if you did??? Oh well. Their loss! I will be back!

Anonymous said...

If you had a maid, I'd love ya even more. I need a maid so I'd ask where you found her and then for the coupon. hahaha

I hate laundry and bathrooms. I wish they could take care of themselves. So far, no such luck.

Kacey said...

Ok, where have I been? I'm catching up on my reading and I can't believe I missed all this mayhem about a maid or not a maid. I actually think it is pretty funny that someone would actually be mad at someone else for trying their best to keep their house clean. I have two frugal friends who both have maids but they skimp on other things. Since they both work it allows them more time with their family.

Anywho - I think your blog is FABULOUS. What I don't think is fab is laundry. I HATE, LOATHE, DESPISE, everything about laundry.

Ok, gotta run and fold a big pile of teeny tiny laundry. My maid hasn't shown up for weeks and the butler just up and left with my helicopter pilot. So not only do I have a dirty house, no clean clothes, and no one to bring me a glass of wine and some nachos, I also have no way to get to my spa retreat in San Francisco. What ever is a girl to do? :o)

Marie said...

I'm cracking up. I love a funny girl... I got your maid joke. lol It's too hard to pick ONE chore I hate the most. I despise so many! Toilets, dusting, putting away laundry tops my list though!
