Slow Cooking Thursday - Sept. 25th & all sorts of deals...

My hubby says to thank everyone for all the birthday wishes yesterday. :) He said he would have left a comment, but he didn't know how. lol Unfortunately, his gift is late in shipping and doesn't come in until today. I see it as making your b-day last a little longer. I'm all for that. ha

Slow Cooker Meatloaf

I haven't tried this recipe, so this will be a first for me. I've been curious to see how a slow cooker meatloaf turns out. I hear it's really good and many in blogland have made it. Meatloaf is easy enough to cook so the slow cooker should make it even more easy.

I've been thrilled to be receiving emails and messages that a lot of you are using the recipes from here...let's see if there are any takers for this one. ;-)

Ingredients:

2 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 small onion (diced)
1/4 cup water

Directions:

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Form into a meatloaf shape that will fit into your crock pot. Cut a strip of foil and place under the meatloaf in crock pot. Cut it long enough to cover the bottom and sides of meatloaf. Place meat loaf in crock pot and top with an additional 2 tablespoons ketchup. Cover and cook on low for approximately 6-8 hours.

I have started thinking about what I want! But I'm not so concerned about other people's lists--haha. I'm kidding! I haven't even thought about Christmas yet!

I've never made meatloaf in the crockpot either, but have heard it is good. This looks like the recipe to try it with!

I love doing slow-cook meals!

You're the second blogger today I've read asking about Christmas. I have some items flagged in a catalog but I haven't ordered them yet.

Sounds like a good recipe. I haven't made meatloaf in a long time. Might have to try this one.

Yes, I've done some xmas shopping..just a few things. I need to get more done. I hate the last minute rush and forking out a ton of money all at once. Its better to spread out the 'fun'. lol

I love making meatloaf in the crockpot - it's so easy! Did you see Ina Garten's Beef stew the other day? (Yes, you have converted me to her show. I LOVE it!) I'm going to try and covert it to a crockpot. I'll let you know how it turns out. Have a great day!

Yum! I am going to try this with ground turkey and see how that turns out. I'll let you know. :)

The only thing I have done so far with Christmas is my list and that's about it...

Umm...I better get right on that though, it will be here before we know it.

Have a good one! :)

I haven't made meatloaf in the crockpot. Would probably come our very juciy and tender. Leftovers would make good meatloaf sandwiches.

Meatloaf in a crock pot sounds....well, interesting. :)

Funny you should ask the Christmas shopping question. Just today, I picked up several things to buy and then remembered......we're giving our kids money. Not as exciting but I believe it will be to their "liking."

Too hot here to think about Christmas. I'm hoping my mums and pansies won't die from the heat.

HEY MR Weatherman, it's FALL ya know.
