Cling, it's not just for Saran Wrap & Menu Plan Monday

On Saturday I spoke about things I'm learning as a parent. I've just added another lesson to my list that is quickly growing....how to function with a toddler stuck to my hip. Since Pumpkin Doodles has not been feeling well, she's become quite the clingy one. She's pretty much all better now, but the cling has stayed. Just when I think I can sneak in a load of laundry or peel some potatoes without the potential of cutting myself due to a little one pulling on my jeans, she reminds me that I'm not invisible. It's quite sweet really, but it does make chopping veggies much more difficult and perhaps a bit dangerous.

I've been assured by many professional moms that it's a phase and that when little ones are sick they act like industrial strength Saran Wrap. I admit that it can be a very fulfilling feeling...being so wanted and needed. I realize that in about 12 or 13 years I'll be WISHING and PRAYING for this stage to come back...I'm going to focus on enjoying it, even if it means not being able to unload the dishwasher in less than an hour. ;-)

Question of the Day
Do you ever feel like Doogie Howser when you blog?
You know, how he used to type his thoughts out
on his ancient computer at the end of the show...
I do. ;-)

I've never thought about Doogie while blogging--but now that you mentioned it I will be playing that music in my head as I'm typing from now on! Thanks! :) haha

Found you through SITS. The Doogie Howser memories made me laugh. What a great post. Believe me, the 'saran wrap times' are tough, but you'll get through!

That fish chowder looks really good. I use to love the show Doogie Howser. I watched it religiously when I was younger. I never thought about equating blogging with that show. Good memories. :)

I'm with Sandy Toes - I love Lost, but I still have no idea what's going on!

I know I used to watch Doogie Howser, but I seriously can't remember a thing about it! The Wonder Years though...

I loved that show and look at what a baby he was.

I think that kids never really out grow that clingy, I have been sick and I need you clutch. My daughter whom is 12, still wants me to hold her when she is not feeling well and no matter what kind of sick it is, we always have to get the bowl of ice cold water and the forehead rag out for them to have. Somehow it makes them feel better. :>

I'm going to have to try the pork tenderloin recipe. Sounds yummy.

I'd forgotten about Doogie. He was ahead of his time, I guess.

The Doogie Howser comment is CRACKING me up! My friend and I used to type notes to eachother like Doogie's end of show notes during computer class in high school (way after the show had ended), and she called yesterday to say she found an old one. I distinctly remember his entry where he wrote "Life goes on... without Wanda."

I had never thought how blogging is actually a little Doogie-ish. Now you have me wanting to put a thing on my blog that says "Release your inner Doogie! Life goes on... without Wanda!"

Yes this was a completely random comment.

Its so hard when they are sick and clingy because sometimes you just need all of your limbs to function effectively... but you are so right in remembering to cherish it and reminding us all to, as well.

Great menu and YES, I guess I AM Doogie, I always type how I think LOL

Guess that's why my blog posts are usually a long babble of nothing in particular.
