Slow Cooking Thursday & The Quest to Find Pumkin Doodles' Gift

**If you haven't already...GO ENTER MY LANDS' END GIVEAWAY**

So, today I refrained from indulging myself in chocolate like I mentioned yesterday. I did partake in a fabulous prime rib at a restaurant...of course, I had my Restaurant.com gift certificate in hand and the hubby and I enjoyed our 3 course meal for a grand total of $12. ;-) I'm stuffed still!

Everyone's cravings listed yesterday in the comments have me wanting everything from Sushi (usually my #1 craving) to avocados! Mmmmmmmm! Speaking of craving, I have to share the craving that I had when I was pregnant...bacon dipped in vinegar! hahaha I know, CRAZY! My hubby would wake up at 2:30am to find a full bellied soon-to-be-mom fryin' up some bacon while pouring vinegar in a bowl. Still makes me laugh!

Right now I'm trying to decide on what to buy little Pumpkin Doodles for Christmas. She's 19 months old ... I'm sure my 'Question of the Day' will cater to my quest to find a good gift for her. ;-) One thing I know is that she LOVES animals which makes her a fan of these ADORABLE little critters...Wonder Pets - 26 FREE Printables!!

Easy Creamy Pork Tenderloin

I found this SUPER EASY recipe at allrecipes.com ...

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds pork tenderloin
ground black pepper to taste
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of celery soup
*I add chopped celery, parsley flakes, 1 can of cream of mushroom and season the pork with garlic. You can also chop up red potatoes and add to the mixture...fabulous!*

DIRECTIONS
Season pork tenderloin with pepper, and place in slow cooker. Pour undiluted celery soup onto tenderloin, covering meat completely.
Cover, and cook on Low for 8 hours.

Question of the Day
Any suggestions on what to buy my 19 month old for Christmas?

That sounds yummy - especially with the potatoes! It's been too long since I've had a 19 month old to have any ideas - sorry!

Experience says that big items are a waste of money at this age. They are still thrilled with baby dolls, stuffed animals, toys that make noise (with lights) and the things to imitate mommy.
So could be baby doll, doll stroller, doll car seat and some noise makers and she would be thrilled. You know she is going to play with the boxes still.

I must admit that I indulged my niece with Hannah Montana paraphernalia. It's my job as an aunt - but I did cringe when I bought it. :)

There are so many wonderful Etsy shops with great gifts for little baby girls. This gift guide just scratches the surface with all of the wonderful ideas. http://www.etsy.com/gift-guides/baby/7?&page=3

You can't ever go wrong with Melissa & Doug toys--they're sturdy, beautiful, and inspire imagination. And that kid tough camera is one of the best gifts I ever gave my girls, who take the best pictures (and most embarrassing snap shots of their mom in compromising situations! LOL).

The recipe sounds delish...

visiting from SITS this morning.

Maybe you could get your little girl one of the 6V power wheels. My son is 16 months (will be 17 mo 1 day at Christmas) and we got him the 6V 4 wheeler. It only goes 2 mph and is very low to the ground so I'm not concerned about him getting hurt on it.

I agree with Sandy Toes...bacon dipped in vinegar is a new one to me too! I have no idea what to get a 19 month old, but I might have to come back in a little while and browse the comments cause we have a little niece to buy for this year. I could use some ideas too!

Bacon balsamic vinegrette is an awesome flavor, so vinegar and bacon doesn't seem that bad!

I almost always reccommend wooden buildling blocks, for girls and boys. If you get a good set they will last and last, and 7 years later, my kids still play with them everyday! My 15 yo builds castles with the 9 yo. It is so much fun to watch them. I got them when Bre has just turned 2, so I think it would be good for your kiddo, too.

Bacon dipped Vinegar sounds yummy!!

I second the wooden building blocks! My nieces and nephews ALL got those from me between 1 and 2; and they were wonderful!

How about Fisher Price Little People? My daughter is 4 and still plays with them! We just got the nativity set and she loves it!

I just went back and looked at pics from when my daughter was about that age and she played mostly with dolls, doll accessories (bottles, diapers, bibs, etc), stuffed animals, crayons & markers, stickers and balls.

Hope that helps.

$12 for a meal for 2 that included prime rib! thats amazing.
Have you seen the bouncing zebra toy from walmart? Its a zebra on a stand that the kids can sit on and it bounces and spins. At 19 months old I'd bet he/she can handle it with supervision of course, it looks so fun

I don't eat a lot of pork products(doesn't agree with me)...maybe bacon from time to time, but if I were a big fan of pork this recipe sounds yummy.

You might find this funny...I sent the hubby to Wal-mart yesterday to pick up some cookie tins and he also brought home the white chocolate Lindor truffles without me asking!

I am thinking about that Melissa & Doug standing Easel for my 20 month old Little Monkey. I forgot that in September when we were visiting family, he really loved coloring on my cousin's easel.

I couldn't resist...I bought the Melissa & Doug easel for our Little Monkey.

I agree with you anything Hannah Montana deserves to be in the rubbish bin, so tired of her!

No ideas here but my kids loved the painting easel. Such a great find and for rany days it was the best.

My Son has the trike and loved it! Did I mention his mom loved it too! It was perfect walks when he was getting too big for a stoller. He'll be 3 in January and still rides the trike but he's getting a big wheel for Christmas.

I'm trying to think what I was getting for my daughter at that age.She did have a ride on toy like a little car, but she didn't play with it till much later, the best things were dolls and stuffed animals, that's why we have so many of them LOL

If I think of something I'll definitely post back :)

Mmmmmmmmm that slow cooker pork sounds amazing!

Linked in from SITS a couple of days ago and I have been wanting to leave a comment ever since. I think your blog is awesome and I'm amazed at all the deals you find.

You're going to HAVE to go on the blogroll!

I forgot! Check out Learning Resources.

They have great quality toys and games. My daughter's favorites have been:
*Smart Snacks Counting Cookies
*Smart Snacks Rainbow Color Cones
*Pretend And Play basket food sets.

Some of the items say 3 and up, but we just took the smaller things (like the strawberries in the food basket) out. Now that she's 4 and no longer putting things in her mouth, she plays with the strawberries.
